And catherine, if you are reading this, and there ISN'T some sort of "emergency measures" plan for people, it might be worth it to give that some serious thought.

1) in the form of "free for all" food dishes.

2) Planned Herd-level suspended animation (perhaps some sort of fee involved with that) for people who need to be away from SL for some length of time. Consider europeans and their month long vacations... I would imagine some would be willing to pay a food fee up front for "Roo Hotel" service that would just hold their entire herd of roos in suspended animation and happy and fed for a finite length of time. Even if it was at the near normal 6-9 Lindens per day per roo that we would pay in food I think that would be a huge boon.

3) For those unable to plan ahead (unplanned hospitalization for example) perhaps some sort of emergency version of the above where they go into suspended animation and the fee is figured out when the person is able to get back in. I could see that being possible by having an area in our account settings where we can elect "proxy contacts" a few names of our close sl friend(s)/fellowship members/whatever who would be able to speak on our behalf in the event that an emergency measure was needed. This would be how malevey would protect itself from spoofing/griefing whereby somebody with no business speaking for us tried to get our roos suspended.

I can envision this all being managed by a prim that looks like Noah's Arc (LOL). So, for planned out of SL time, we buy the Arc and rez it out on our land, and activate it and all our roos dance up into it two by two and poof inside (stored in the database of course). Until such time as they are delivered back home with the reversal of the Arc storage.

For emergency measures, perhaps make it so that the CSRs can rez the Arc via a stump with a special csr whistle (for example) so that even if nobody has rez rights on the parcel they are able to do the storing. It might not even be necessary to have a actual arc item to do this, but it would be cute anyways! Especially so that when the person DOES get back in world it is CLEAR where their roos have gone and they can click the gizmo and find out how to get everything back how it was.
