Trait or not a trait that is the question .........................

There seems to be a great difference of opinion in the meerooo world over what is a trait and what isnt.So to try give an educated view I did what most of us did and looked up the words meaning in the dictionary.............humm not really much help there. many things can be deemed as a trait from personality to the way a bird nests..........
Our concern however is the use of the word trait in the meeroo world .......So if we are to refer to coat colour as a trait does that not make fawn a trait? by stating you have a 3 traited goldfoot, which is in fact a short short goldfoot is misleading because you have already said it is a goldfoot so when you say a 3 traited goldfoot people expect to see 3 other traits beside the coat, you wouldnt say you have a 3 traited red in the same instance would you ? you could say I have a 3 traited roo and count the coat then. I guess it all has to do with wording also. So are coats eyes and size truely traits ?? In my opinion no,I have heard some peoples reply to this as "well if I am selling yes if I am buying no" well come on people you cant have it both ways.
Coats, eyes and Size can not be deemed as "normal" common and uncommon yes , more desirable yes but not normal ..... all ear, head, tail and hair types besides normal are considered a trait but not all coats, eyes and size are considered a trait. so how do we determain what coats, eyes and sizes are traits if 1 is then surly all must be so I could have a 3 traited roo simply by having a fawn clear eyed 0.0 teacup ?
just my view and i am interested in other peoples views on this also
