Genetics

A place to discuss the genetics of meeroos.

Just thinking of an idea here, but perhaps our little meeroo friends are dropping us some hints on their recessive coats by finding unique coat specific treasures!

Up to this point, i've been finding mostly common treasures time and time again with my fawns, winecoats, ursines and reds...I still get excited over stalebread!

Regard inquiry

Hi all,

I have seen some awesome meeroos come from people who regard are high but I wanted to know if anyone has seen a digression in their pairings when the regard gets too high as I am starting to see.

Example of one of my roo pairs:
http://www.worldofmeeroos.com/index.php?q=meeroos/meeroo/1198536

seems as their regard gets higher, the nests aren't as great. I am seeing this in more than this pair.

Feedback would be awesome!

Thank you,

Amai.

A friend of mine has been breeding carnation clear eyes for a couple generations. In doing so she brought a koi trait and now her kois have carnation clear eyes! Awesome right?

Well she was running into a problem of finding a koi mate. So she sold a nest, and bought a koi with carnation dusty eyes. They maded and their first nest was....

A glacier clear eye koi.

Huh!?

Now I did a bit of research into the male's parents. There is no glacier in the background. There is however a few clear eyes in the mist of it all.

Here's the nest link:

Just wondering on your thoughts on this.. Probably theres no 'truth' on it, but still..:

How do you organise yor roos? Do you breed your species to the same species and personalities and generation?

So... gael to gael, pine to pine, and 5th generation to another 5th generation? Etc.

Oddity About My Koi

I saved up my lindens and went shopping for a Koi so I could finally break into the Japanese meeroos. I found a male Koi, and then an Emperor offspring.

The next day I stood by them and mapped out their family trees. During this time my Koi digs up a treasure and it was a Nessie Tooth. At the time I got excited cause of all the rumors about treasures being possible clues to whats hidden in that meeroos lineage. To this day he as dug up Nessie Tooth twice and not a single treasure I saw my friend's masked meeroos dig.

Now lets fast forward to the first and second nest. Will put links:

i put cinder+ whatever =red

does it happen to you also?
does it make sense in the genetics rules?
i have always seen when you put exacly same spiecies together i get that species. i have 100 roos, in the game for almost 2 months and this week all the rules changed...

Loch with a Short Tail

Well this morning I woke up to a Short Tailed Loch, given to me by a pair of Short Tailed Sierras. I think I said OMG for a good hour and swore I was dreaming! I am soooo excited!

So if anyone wants to see the web page for him, it is at.....

I have a Pine winecoat, nothing special.. 3th generation meeroo. She gave me 3 nests sofar, 2 with same dad, one with diff. dad:
a caledonian upright ears
an amber upright ears
a highland
None of these are found in the linage, and the last nest, the highland, has a red gael as dad, wich actually is a starter,an older one (58K range).
Has anyone seen this happening, so many "uncommons"from 1 roo, thats still close to the starters?

Gender Theories

Just wondering if anyone else has seen this before:
Link here is to one of my Autumn coated girls.
She has had the same partner since birth(Rory) and they have produced 7 nests in their time together.

But......if you look at the nest details you will notice something odd......they are all Male :|

Has anybody else out there had a pair that has produced only one gender and if so, do you have any theories on why this has happened..

Bringing Up Regard

Ok I have been around and araound searching this forum for the answer and I have found more than one. So I am sorry if I am reopening a topic thats been and gone but I feel people along with myself are miss understanding the regard point system and other parts of the meeroo breeding system.

Now I along with many others have been told about regard improving your chance on getting or unlocking the traits & "Rare Roo's". This I am to belive is no longer true. I would like a member for the WWOM Team to comfirm this for us all here.
