A place to discuss the genetics of meeroos.

Lol..... So, I did a little more reading about something called the "Mendels Law" let me quote a short paragraph on this.

Feel free to browse their parentage, as well as their offspring. I still own all ambers and highlands, as I am breeding them.

Notes: Alcide, Sookie, Eric, and Polly are all pre-orders. Humphrey is a giant I bought at a market, way back. Check his parentage and their offspring. Wow. I am still trying to pop THAT out of him.

One more to add for those interested: yesterday's nest,

Painted Nile Girl

I got a painted nile clear Irish eye roo from a box.

What should I breed with her? Any thoughts?

I have ursines, winecoats, fawns, two reds, and one Sierra. I don't know offhand what the personality is for the red or Sierra (the Sierra is the nest from the two red.) One red (female) has flare dusty eyes, and one red (male) has clear glacier eyes. I think the Sierra has flare. I think both reds are small and so is the Sierra not sure offhand. It could be a toy.

Short Upright Ears

I have one short upright ear from a box (parents are the roo creators) and one short upright ear that just hatched from a regular roo male, and a giant roo female. Both parents are ursine. I think the nest is a winecoat.

Unfortunately both of my short upright ear roos are male!

So, what should I breed with him to try to get something good? Should I forget about his ears and breed him for size or for clear eyes? Any thoughts?

As a RL breeder, I'm interested to see if anything in the Roo game acts like a true dominant. It's much harder to prove out than a recessive.

A couple of rules for dominants:

A dominant will always be visible if it is present.
A dominant cannot be carried (otherwise it would be a recessive).
A dominant is loseable. If the offspring doesn't show it, it doesn't have it.

In the various breedables I've done in SL, I have found that everything is carryable, so thus no true dominants. I would be very interested in anyone's findings to prove out existence of true dominants.
